SafeSport Requirements for Teams Registering Players Younger than 18

Albuquerque Soccer League Safesport Training Instructions

The code below is U. S. Soccer’s national governing body access code allowing any of our members to complete training at no charge to the member.  The code can be shared with members of Albuquerque Soccer League only.

If your team wishes to register a player younger than 18, and the league's minimum age is 16, every player on your team's roster is required to complete SafeSport training.  If anyone on your team has already completed SafeSport training because they are involved in youth soccer or are a certified referee and their certification is current, they can provide us a copy of their completion certificate which is available from their SafeSport account.  They will not need to repeat the course for ASL.

Once you have completed your Safesport training, please send the PDF version of the most recent certificate to your Team Manager who will advise the league Safesport manager.

Which course to take: If you have never completed SafeSport training, you should take the course entitled “SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation.”  If you have taken training before, you should take the next available Refresher Course.  If your last course taken was “Refresher 3” your next course would be the “SafeSport Trained – U. S. Soccer Federation” course again.  The training runs in a 4-year cycle as follows:

Year 1 – SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation

Year 2 – Refresher 1

Year 3 – Refresher 2

Year 4 – Refresher 3

Year 5 – SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation (again)

Note that there are other courses available in the catalog.  These are optional and do not meet the training requirements established by the Center for SafeSport.
